From the President

Dear PPGGNY Members and Friends,

“I have found that among its other benefits,

giving liberates the soul of the giver.”

- Maya Angelou

Remember what joy our donors must feel
as you engage with them each day.

What a glorious celebration we had on October 18!At our luncheon, we honored Margaret Holman with the PPGGNY Lifetime Achievement Award, and Dianne Armstrong with the Cloughy Service Award. I want to extend our deepest appreciation to Robert Sharpe of The Sharpe Group for his presentation and for making this day so special for our honorees. Also, thank you to all who attended and to all who donated to PPGGNY as a tribute to Margaret and Dianne.

In addition to our regular sessions on 11/15, we are hosting a members-only networking event on 11/28 from 5-6:30 pm at the Kitano Jazz Room at Park Avenue and 38th Street. This free event will include wine, beer and appetizers, and an abbreviated presentation by Michael Cooney, Esq. at 5:30 pm. There is very limited space so please register early! You must be signed into the PPGGNY website as a member to register.

Please note that the next three regular sessions on 11/15/2017, 12/13/2017, and 1/17/2018 will be held at the Bernstein offices located at 1345 Avenue of the Americas, 41st Floor. We are grateful to our friends at Bernstein for hosting us!

Thank you to BNY Mellon for sponsoring our mentorship program this year! This program has successfully helped many new to the field of planned giving. If you are interested in being a mentor, or being mentored, don’t be shy. Reach out to PPGGNY to express your interest:

I look forward to seeing you all at our upcoming sessions!
