From the President

What is the use of living, if it not be to strive for noble causes and to make this muddled world a better place for those who will live in it after we are gone?

Sir Winston Churchill

Dear PPGGNY Members and Friends,

Since daylight savings time has returned, we know that spring is around the corner. This spring, PPGGNY has a fresh new look with an updated logo featuring more contemporary fonts and a splash of color. Thank you Pentera for the design!

We have two amazing events scheduled for the spring. We hope to see you there so register now.

First, our March 21 program includes fabulous speakers you can’t miss. The lunch will feature Patricia M. Annino, Esq., a nationally recognized authority on estate planning and a sought-after speaker at planned giving conferences, who will talk about Women and Money and how to educate and empower women in their philanthropy. There will also be two morning presentations: Joanne Pipkin from the Greater Washington Community Foundation, who will talk about Putting the Centric in Donor-Advised Fund, and our own, Davida Isaacson, will encourage those who are new to planned giving with the basics of planned giving. Sign up now!

Second, our full-day conference, Planned Giving Day NYC, will take place on May 7 at the Convene conference center located in Times Square. We have a slate of impressive speakers, some local and some from across the country, who will inspire you and educate you. Be sure to register before March 30th to take advantage of the discounted early bird rate.

You can check out the entire schedule of speakers and topics on our website. The plenary and keynote sessions address two compelling topics. Track topics include Ethical Fundraising with Senior Donors, Preparing for and Optimizing Donor Visits, Building a Successful Bequest Program, Structuring Gifts of Retirement Accounts, Best Practices of a CGA Program, and new developments in estate planning. The topics are all relevant and compelling -- it will be difficult to choose which sessions to attend.

Don't forget that you can still sign up for a half year membership for even more savings on these two events!
